CANAL+ Benelux & Central Europe’s (CANAL+ B&CE) headquarter is based in Luxemburg and oversees the activities for Austria, Belgium, Czech, Germany, Hungary, The Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland and SPI.
Job Objective
The core of the Canal+ Benelux & Central Europe (C+B&CE) service offering — and what differentiates it from competitors — is its channel line-up of (linear) radio and television channels, along with (non-linear) on-demand services.
Content Management should continuously monitor the performance of channels in the existing line-up, as well as the availability of new program providers that could be included in the C+B&CE portfolios. The main responsibilities include maintaining relationships with relevant content providers, negotiating license fees, and contracting channel suppliers in line with the budget and company targets.
The role is based in Luxembourg, requires regular business travels, and reports directly to the EVP Content Partnerships of CANAL+ Benelux & Central Europe.
Your responsibilities

Content Partner Management & Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain relationships with a selection of channel providers for C+B&CE, either on a territorial basis (primarily the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania) or through account management, in coordination with other members of the Content team.
- Manage contractual relationships with content providers, including drafting and negotiating contract clauses to ensure that all obligations are fulfilled by both parties, with the assistance of internal legal support.

Channel Line-up Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Establish regular coordination with relevant country management to align on approaches to channel extensions, terminations and additions and associated budget assumptions.
- Prepare proposals for additions or changes to the channel line-up, including a clear justification outlining the associated costs and benefits for C+B&CE.

Content Acquisition & Contract Negotiation
- (Re-)negotiate content distribution contracts to meet or improve the annual content budget.

Financial Analysis & Budget Management
- Provide relevant information on channel carriage agreements and financial analysis to various internal stakeholders, both structural (input to annual budgets and reforecasts) and ad-hoc.

Operational Coordination & Performance Monitoring
- In cooperation with the Content Management Coordinator, provide all C+B&CE business partners with the necessary documentation and inform the technical, legal, and financial teams of any content changes that may affect them.
- Collaborate with the C+B&CE Platform Services department to identify the most cost-effective solutions for channel carriage, taking into account any required investments in network (satellite) capacity.
- · Support efforts to define appropriate KPIs for channel performance and the creation of dashboards and reports to track performance, in cooperation with data analytics team.
Experience
- Master’s degree in Business, Media Management, Economics, Law or equivalent
- 5 to 10 years of experience in content acquisition, media partnerships, distribution or licensing.
- Proven experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing strategic partners.
- Experience working in media, broadcasting, telecom, streaming or content distribution industries is a strong asset.
- Exposure to international or multi-market environments.
