Job Objective

 

As a Business Scientist Intern, you will sit at the intersection of business strategy and data science. Your mission is to turn raw data into actionable intelligence that directly impacts commercial performance across our European footprint. You will work on real, high-impact projects alongside experienced data professionals and business stakeholders.

 

 

Your responsibilities:

 

Market Analysis & Business Intelligence

  • Conduct deep-dive market analyses across European territories to identify growth opportunities, competitive dynamics, and performance drivers
  • Build and maintain dashboards and automated reporting pipelines to monitor KPIs (subscriber acquisition, churn, ARPU, engagement)
  • Produce strategic insight reports for senior leadership and local market teams

Projections & Forecasting

  • Develop and refine subscriber projection models using historical data and market signals
  • Support budget and business plan cycles with data-backed scenario analyses
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and iterate on modeling approaches to improve reliability

Upsell & Cross-Sell Modeling (Machine Learning)

  • Design and implement ML-based propensity models to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the existing subscriber base
  • Perform feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and A/B testing in close collaboration with marketing and CRM teams
  • Translate model outputs into clear, actionable commercial recommendations for non-technical stakeholders

Ad Hoc Analytics & Cross-Functional Support

  • Respond to ad hoc analytical requests from business stakeholders across markets
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team’s data infrastructure, tools, and processes

Skills & Experience

 

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree (M1 or M2) in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • Strong academic track record with a genuine interest in both business strategy and technical analytics
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation (mandatory)
  • Strong command of Python or R for data analysis and machine learning (scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar)
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar) is a plus
  • Understanding of machine learning fundamentals: classification, regression, clustering, model evaluation.
  • Ability to translate data findings into clear business narratives. You think in insights, not just numbers
  • Intellectual curiosity, autonomy, and a proactive mindset
  • Excellent communication skills; comfortable presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Fluent in English (mandatory); French is a strong plus
  • Interest in the media/entertainment industry, subscription business models, or European markets is appreciated
