In line with its activities on the continent, CANAL+ International has integrated Group Vivendi Africa (GVA), a subsidiary dedicated to high-speed fiberoptic Internet access across several African countries.
As part of this dynamic, our Ouganda subsidiary is looking for its future local Human Resources Manager. The HR Manager reports functionally to the Human Resources Department for French and English-speaking Africa, ensuring alignment with the Group’s strategic HR orientations. The role also reports operationally to the local Managing Director to ensure close coordination with the subsidiary’s operational needs. The HR Manager also supervises a local HR Assistant responsible for administrative and operational HR support.
🎯 Your Role and Responsibilities
1. Contribute to defining the HR strategy
- Gather HR needs and expectations from the company’s various departments.
- Propose HR projects and timelines for validation by management.
- Conduct economic, legal, and social monitoring (HR trends in the sector).
2. Provide guidance and support to managers
- Advise managers on HR matters (labor law, training, recruitment, employment contracts, onboarding, performance reviews, career management/mobility, compensation, employee relations, disciplinary procedures, etc.).
- Ensure HR processes are applied consistently across teams.
3. Implement and manage HR projects
- Participate in HR budget preparation (payroll control, skills development plans).
- Implement HR monitoring and reporting tools (dashboards).
- Lead the elaboration of the social report, ensure analysis and dissemination.
4. Lead social dialogue and negotiations
- Maintain and foster relationships with employee representative bodies (staff delegates, labor inspectorate, etc.).
- Communicate HR actions to social partners.
- Organize elections of employee representatives.
- Ensure proper implementation and legal follow‑up of all agreements.
5. HR Administration and HR Development
- Supervise payroll and personnel administration.
- Develop HR dashboards (absenteeism, compensation, leave, training, etc.).
- Collect training needs, define orientations and oversee execution of the training plan.
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations and social protection laws.
🏆 About You ?
- Master’s degree (Human Resources, Law, Labor Law, Management, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Social Sciences).
- 5 years of experience in a similar role is an advantage.
- Versatility, organization, payroll tools knowledge, MS Office proficiency.
- Managerial skills, rigor, adaptability, excellent interpersonal skills.
